Buenos Aires’s first annual tango in the streets took place Saturday, December 8, 2007, on Avenida de Mayo. Live orchestras played and live people danced. The event was a success. Two days later on the same street, Argentina’s first elected “Presidenta,” Christina Ferdinand Kirschner, took office from her husband, Nestor Kirschner.
